Effective Communications. Don't let the name of this subject fool you. It's boring and crappy. No fun at all. I expected exciting tutorials with lotsa interaction with a chance to speak our minds. I'm utterly disappointed. Today's tutorial, like the previous others, totally bored me to tears. After looking though the contents of the course, I wonder, how will at this make us better communicators? Like we don't already know how to communicate?
That aside, the Lion Dance people are cutting members based on punctuality later. They start at 6.30pm but there's Mass at six and i sorta volunteered to do the reading. Honestly, I'm not too keen on Lion Dance. I'm only in for the points. So since I'll prolly be "cut" coz I wanna go for mass, I better look for another source of points. I went for the QP (my hall's production team) interview last night. I wanted to be either Sound Director or Costume & Makeup Officer but they seem to want me as Vocal Trainer. *freaks out* This is madness!!! I ain't that good a singer and I don't know howta train vocals!!! During the interview, they started asking questions like "Can you conduct?", "Can you read notes?". I didn't know what they were getting at so I gave answers like "I ain't that good but I could give it a try", "I might give it a try thoughI haven't had formal lessons"... Next thing I know, they started talking me into being Vocal Trainer. Sigh. If i get the post I'll need lotsa help. I really hope I get Sound Director though, if I get in at all. Can't get my hopes high. I might not even get in. If I don't I'll hafta hunt for yet another source of points. Sigh.

I'm really free today. NTU's having some 50th anniversary thing so there'll prolly be celebrations. But I'm too tired to go anywhere. Guess I'll just take a nap or something and see how it goes. I'm supposed to go support the lion dance people later. Dunno of I should go since I prolly won't have company.
I'm listening to Hyde! Haven't listened to 666 for ages. Heh.
Saturday was rather amusing. Ivan "Ah Kong" is a communion minister! It's good coz at least one communion minister won't forget bout us and just walk up to the altar without giving us communion. But I guess it feels funny recieving from Ah Kong. To prove my point, when he said "Body of Christ", Pinkie actually said "Hello Ah Kong" instead of "Amen" in reply! Crazy gal! Got to see Adele on Saturday. She's so cute!!! Stacie was having so much fun with her. I got to catch a glimpse of Clement too!!!
Sunday! Had a really awesome lunch with my family at Swensens. It's been ages since we've gone out as a family. Esp now with me staying in hall and all... I see my family for like 2 days a week. How sad. Went to the driving range in the evening to hit some 100 (golf) balls. It's nice to be there in the evening. Pretty empty. But looks like I can only go on Sundays. Sigh. I guess the convenience of staying in hall does come with a price. I'm still feeling it. I feel so isolated all the way in Jurong while my friends and family are still in the North. It's not so bad when I'm occupied with lessons, activities, etc. But once I'm alone (or with Xuwen) in my room, the feeling of homesickness suddenly kicks in. Everyone says I'll get used to it sooner or later. I'd rather it be sooner than later.

I wanted to update over the weekend. But never got round to doing it... Saturday was rather interesting. Well, for the first time, I had lessons... I had to wake up early on a Saturday for lessons!!! But it was Spanish so it wasn't too bad... It's fun!
I was early for choir practice so I accompanied Geri to Thomson Plaza to buy a pair of jeans. And as we were leaving it started to pour... The 2 of us had to share a tiny umbrella and we ended up getting wet anyway. To make things worse, my shoe broke!!! *cries* Good thing my parents were in the area and came to my rescue with a new pair of shoes. Whew!
Anyway, for some unknown reason, all the girls (well, most...) decided to wear black today. We looked good!!! Haha. Sorta reminded me of carolling. Carolling practice was fun. We did Joy To The World instead. Quite an easy song. And for some weird reason again... Halfway during practice, the choir decided to sing while standing on chairs. Tsk tsk... Mad people.
Geri got us kinda worried for a while. She went home with Gabriel and when she got of the bus he saw a group of rowdy guys there. He told Marianne and we started calling her to see if she reached home safely. But... She didn't answer! We tried calling both her handphone and her home. All we heard was the ringing tone. We were starting to get worried... But we realised that if she didn't reach home her mummy would prolly have called one of us. So we figured she was alright.
Sunday was the most uninteresting day. I didn't even step out of the house. All I did was eat, sleep and read. Haha.

I guess I don't just get homesick. I get halmm-sick as well. Especially when I'm all alone in my room. BUT I got to talk to Geri, Pinkie, Desmond, Cynthia and Frois on MSN last night and I kinda feel better already. Can't wait to see them tomorrow. Saw some really nice stuff at the image fair yesterday. Bought lotsa stuff. For myself and some Halmm people. Sigh... Spent so much money this week. Still had to pay 25 bucks for block fund. I'm totally penniless now. Poor me! Ok, I better get ready to go for Java tutorial. Ciaoz.

Argh!!! This is irritating!!! I blogged quite a bit just now and it just got swallowed up. Even "recover post" doesn't work. Guess I'll just do a quick recap then. Hopefully this thing doesn't piss me off again.
OK. Went for mass with Marianne last night at St Mary of the Angels. It was the first time I've seen the newly rebuilt church. It was really beautiful. We were late for mass and didn't have a place to sit so we had to stand. After mass we found out that Lucas' friend actually saved seats for us. How nice.
Last Saturday. Had free prata thanx to Lucas. Had our first carolling practice of the year as well. Did Ding Dong Merrily On High. One of my favourites. T'was fun teaching Stella parts in the stairwell. Reminded me of the time I learnt the same parts in the same stairwell. Hopefully the ISP kids will love carolling and decide to stay on in the choir. Think we're doing Hark The Herald Angels next week. Can't wait.

I'm so bored. Had only one lecture today. I'll be free till this evening. BORED!!!
Lucas was on TV yesterday. Driving jeep for NDP. But guess what? I didn't see!!! Argh!!! Will try to watch the encore. Geri said he looked tortured not to smile! Coz he needed to crap. Haha... Lucas is famous now.
Went to Stacie's house yesterday to choose hymns. Her cats were so cute!!! But Misty kept running away from me. Cazzy found a new best friend in me though! Her mother showed me their baby photos too. They were so tiny!!! Choosing hymns was hard. It was so much easier choosing for Easter.

YAY!!! I've finally gotten my laptop! Hurray!!! *jumps for joy* So this is my first update in quite a while... School's alright. Got to meet my tutorial group already. They're pretty nice people from what I've seen this 2 days. And there's quite a good balance between the normal people and the freaks. Haha. Oh no I sound evil... Anyway, I dropped Econs. I've decided that it's too tough for me and I don't really like it. I'm taking Spanish in it's place. Had my first lesson on Tuesday. It was fun!!! My next lesson's later and I can't wait! I really think I'm gonna enjoy this course. Usagi! I'll need you to be my personal tutor!
