Christmas day just ended about 20 minutes ago. Bleah. Now post christmas syndrome starts. This Christmas was pretty good though. Really enjoyed myself more than I thought I would.
Our concert on Thursday was awesome. We sounded really good. Better than during all our practices. All those long hours spent in church and Marymount... Definitely worth it. The audience was a nice and appreciative one. There were no screwups or anything, especially with the caterer, so that was a huge relief. We hung around outside Lucas' house after that and had loads of fun. Ate McDonalds, played with snails, played Uno Stacko. Reached home slightly before 3am and ready to drop.
Daddy got back on Christmas eve! So nice being able to spend Christmas together. He brought back lotsa stuff from the US! Yayest!
Okay, so I went for Midnight Mass even though I didn't really plan to this year. I was supposed to go with Adam but he made plans to go with his friends. So I went alone. No big deal right, although it does seem a little pathetic. Haha. So I just wandered around outside church before Mass, waiting hopefully for unexpected company. And unexpected company did come in the form of Desmond. Heh heh. Mass was nice. Took some photos and exchanged gifts after that. Then supper at Newton Circus. Reached home at 3.45am. I didn't feel like sleeping, so I stayed up to watch the sunrise. Finally went to bed at 7am.
Stacie invited Adam and I to her place as usual. Something I always look forward to. The food was great. Gorgeous cuttlefish!!! And of course the booze... Haha.
Yea, so this has been a great Christmas. Thanks everyone for your gifts and wishes! And sorry if I haven't given gifts to some of you. It'll come soon enough, okay? Heh.
Shh, it's..here..
Hahaha. Okay so I've been so busy enjoying my holidays that I forgot to blog. My post exam days have been rather packed so I guess I do have a lot to blog about. Unfortunately, I can only remember so much, so I'll be very brief. Haha.
[tHE Conference]
Went down after my last paper so I only joined in after dinner. Hence I had no idea what the first day was about. Except that there was adoration which was pretty good and a lot of mindless jumping around. Second day was fun. There were station games and all and HALMM won everything! YAY! Haha. More jumping around. It was kinda like an extended version of the youth day thing we had in July at the Expo.
[LL's choir concert]
Okay not just Laura-Lynn. Audery-Ann and Tiffany were performing as well so I went to support them. A few HALMMsters went as well. It was pretty good. The second half was a musical and it was pretty High School Musical-ish. Later I heard that it was intended.
[CSA Christmas Party]
The turn out was not as good as last year. But it's nice to see the freshies getting so involved and all. Great company too.
[Concert Preparation]
Okay, this is still ongoing. The concert's just a week away! My my... Kinda exciting, kinda scary. This coming week's gonna be packed with practices and rehearsals and all. So far we're doing okay. Could be better but we ain't that bad. I just hope we don't burn out or anything. I've been looking forward to this for a really long time.
[IA Matters]
After my exams, I sent an email asking if there was anything I could do to prepare myself for the whole attachment thing which obviously will be new to me. Now, all of a sudden I have to go down to CK Tang once a week. Haha. Curiousity killed the cat? Nah, I'm not complaining. I know it may seem like it, but I'm not. At least I won't be shit scared when I walk in on the first day. So what's two hours a week. At least I land myself in Orchard so I can get some Christmas shopping done.
[Shopping]
Sadly, I've barely started my Christmas shopping. I've done my concert related shopping though. Went to town with Crackers on Sunday. Bought tops and shoes to wear for the concert. I got slingbacks! Took Pinkie's advice to stopped buying slip-ons. I'm not too used to wearing slingbacks though. I've got a week to get used to them. If not I have my suede heels as a back up.
[Last Saturday]
This was one heck of a day. Woke up really early to sing for a wedding. Reception and all after that and we were off to Marymount. I thought we were just going there to recce the place. We ended up singing more than half the repertoire there. The singing was not bad on the whole. But it was so bloody hot and humid even though it was raining. So after that we headed back to church for more singing! Well, actually most of us took 40 winks in 03-02 before we started to practise for Mass. We were so damn tired. Surprisingly we sang pretty well for Mass, considering how tired we were. Since we were so pleased with ourselves we had a nice Swensens dinner which was really GREAT! It was so much fun. 14 of us on one long table. Crackers polished off a Megaburger and still had room more fries and ice-cream! Well done. She has done the female species proud. Two earthquakes after that. Gone in mere seconds. We were kinda high after that mainly because of the sugar rush from the ice-cream. Crackers and I were adding the word "mega" in front of all the nouns when we spoke. Haha. Back to church after that for guess what? More singing! Had sectionals for just one song and it was a pretty nice practice. What a day.
[Another Wedding]
A few of us sang for a wedding on Monday. A very nice and happy affair. Awesome food after that! There were prawns in almost every dish! Yum!
Okay that's about all I can remember. Haha. Oh yes. I got my hair done today. At long last. Cut and colour. It's still longish though significantly shorter and not wild and dry like before. And copper. A darker shade than what I got before. I like!
Okay. Off to do some IA reading now.
8 days to concert.
13 days to Christmas.
