I was feeling a little down and out of sorts this morning. So I decided to give myself a treat. Headed down to HMV after work and got that copy of Vovin I've been eyeing for the past few months. 51 friggin bucks. A big hole burnt in my pocket. Yes, I know, I can get it cheaper from Therion Store. But today I didn't mind the few extra bucks for the sake of instant gratification. And maybe if they see that they are actually selling records here, they might decide to come! Hahaha. Yes. Fat hope, right. But I'm allowed to dream, am I not?
Also, I went to check out the Greek Masterpieces from the Louvre exhibition at the National Museum a few days ago. Pretty cool stuff. Got to see some really amazing sculptures and I learnt quite a bit too. I realised that when it comes to Mythology, no matter how widely read you are there are bound to be some stories (or versions of stories) that you don't know of.
This, in my opinion, was the most impressive sculpture there.

Today, I finally got the chance to do something I've been wanting to do for a long time. To sit down with a good cup of coffee, listen to good music and get lost in the exciting world of Raymond E Feist. Mmmm... Nice.
There's a Milan match tonight but I can't watch coz I have to get up early for work tomorrow. Oh well... Hope i wake up to good news!

I watched Sweeney Todd on Friday and didn't get to blog about it. It was pretty good actually. I liked it. Okay, so the music wasn't as good as Nightmare and Corpse Bride but it was pretty cool that it was a gothic musical. I was warned that the blood looked like paint and it sure did! But I thought it was pretty effective artistically. The bright red acting as a highlight to each scene where everything else is dark and gloomy (haha learnt from my word and image elective). So not being realistic here is forgivable.
Greg, Polly, Kelly and I went for supper at Youth Park after that. No, no meat pies. Haha. Poor Polly was so traumatised! She was curled up into a ball and squirming during the movie. Anyway, we had carrot cake which was pretty good.
It felt good to chill out after work. No school stress, yay! I'm so not looking forward to going back to school. I much prefer being on IA. Whether I like my job or not is not really an issue here. I just like the overall lifestyle that I'm able to lead during this period of time. I don't feel suffocated with school and I get to have a life at least. I better enjoy it while it lasts.

I survived 2 days of Chinese New Year. Whew. In between entertaining unknown relatives, I managed to watch 2 movies, read a bit, play some blackjack (and lost 17 bucks...) and ate some good food.
Now I can enjoy the weekends. But it's back to work on Monday. There's gonna be a mountain of stuff waiting for me to do. Bleah.
Gonna watch Sweeney Todd on Friday, hopefully. Really looking forward to that.
Collect the blood of Kingu from the great old sea
And Arrogate the primeval waters
Inside your veins the power of the demon flow
Have you ever searched for your descent?
Gaze into your soul, we are the children of the ancient ones
On the thin facade we are the kindred of the benign gods
Take up and read the tables of your destiny
they hang around the neck of Kingu
Prepare the war between gods deep inside your soul
You are the one to fight in this war!
[Pre-Chorus:]
March for war in your soul. Hail!
Demon Kingu rise, rise, rise from the void. Hail!
Kingu rules the honred dragons, Ugallu, fishmen,
Mushussu, umu, bulls, frogs, scorpions, dogs... Kingu rules the void!
[Chorus:]
Kingu is the blood of man drawn off from this early waren
In your veins you find the strength from the demon's heritage
Chaotic waters covered every part of earth
The old gods split it like shellfish
But in the shells the blood of chaos still remain
Mother Habur suckle her children
[repeat pre-chorus & chorus]
[Bass:]
Kingu, general of the host of chaos, fighting for Tiamat; Bearer of sky and earth
[Soprano:]
Kingu, the mighty master ruling eleven demons
Kingu, your blood is running insinde the heart of mankind
The ancient demon, they will return...
The blood of Kingu... their open gate

This conversation happened on MSN the other day. Obviously I changed our nicks to our names to take up less space.
Ash: ya. and bring your doughnut to the slaughter.
Ash: at least that's what it sounds like.
Lucas: daughter lah.
Lucas: what the heck.
Ash: hahahaha
Just a while later, Mummy told me that there were doughnuts in the fridge and asked me to choose which ones I wanted.
HAHA!!! That would make it... Bring the Doughnut to Your Daughter? LOL.
The actual title is Bring Your Daughter to the Slaughter. Watch it here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qJaQylDKP2gIt does sound like doughnut!
